Another track off SremmLife, “Somebody Come Get Her,” was produced by Mike WiLL Made-It, and features the chorus:
“Somebody come get her, she’s dancin’ like a stripper
Somebody come tip her, she’s dancin’ like a stripper
Somebody come get her, she’s feelin’ all the liquor”
Which reminds me of this scene from the movie 10 Things I Hate About You:
But since these guys were 3 & 4 years old when that movie came, I’m gonna guess this is just a wild coincidence…
After “FourFiveSeconds,” “BBHMM” is Rihanna’s second single off her upcoming eighth album R8.
…and it’s the only thing I need in my life right now. (Y’all should know me well enough!)
After “I Don’t Fuck with You” and “Paradise,” “Blessings” is the third single off of Big Sean’s latest album, Dark Sky Paradise. The single features verses from Drake and Kanye with production by Vinylz and Allen Ritter. “Blessings” is a straightforward song about being grateful for the the money and possessions in these rappers lives.
I recently got into a car accident while this song was playing on the radio. Needless to say, the situation was dripping with irony (as well as transmission fluid).
Kanye’s latest single, “All Day” is off his upcoming album So Help Me God. The track combines Kanye’s signature style of using unconventional samples with more traditional hip-hop lyrics, such as, “How long you niggas ball? All day, nigga / How much time you spent at the mall? All day, nigga”
I know Kanye’s on another level, but could you imagine spending 8 – 12 hours at the mall? There’s not enough Auntie Anne’s pretzels in the world to get me through that kind of a marathon.
Paterson, NJ native, Fetty Wap’s latest single single “Trap Queen” has peaked at number 10 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and has been remixed by French Montana & Fabolous. Expect Fetty Wap: The Mixtape sometime soon. For more information follow Fetty Wap on twitter @fettywap1738
Damn… I thought for sure taking twitter handles @fettywap1 through @fettywap1737 would eventually result in a huge pay-day.
…I knew I shoulda gone all the way to 2000.
French Montana’s latest release, “Bad Bitch” is off his latest mixtape, Mac & Cheese: The Appetizer, his full length album, Mac & Cheese: The Album is scheduled to be released sometime this year.
Look, I don’t know what to say. French’s lyrical skills are lacking, and at times the song’s beat seems overproduced, yet, every time it comes on the radio I’m like:
Towards the end of 2014, Ob Obrien shared a new track on the October’s Very Own blog featuring his OVO labelmates Drake and P Reign. Now word yet on whether this Boi-1da and Noah “40″ Shebib-produced single is from OB’s upcoming debut album or not.
On “Schemin’ Up,” Drake reveals more about what it looks like to start from “the bottom” as he sings in the chorus, “I used to drive the Acura to school, Now I don’t touch the wheel unless it’s new…”
Do you hear that?! Acuras! Bar Mitzvahs! The suburbs! Aubrey Graham has known LEAN TIMES!
“GDFR” is Flo Rida’s latest single from his upcoming fifth studio album The Perfect 10. The single features a verse from Sage the Gemini and production by Miami-based trap producer Lookas. The track is also currently being used for ESPN’s coverage of the NBA.
Sage The Gemini starts off the second verse with “And they already know me, It’s going down further than femurs,” …because I guess “metatarsals” didn’t fit?
How I imagine Whitney Houston would react if she found out someone was sampling her hit song, “I Wanna Dance with Somebody”:
Chris Brown and Tyga have released “Ayo” from their upcoming Fan Of A Fan 2 album. The new single was produced by Nic Nac (of “Loyal” fame) and is about the two of them riding around town hollering at chicks. Never one for modesty, C-Breezy reminds us of his elite social status by describing to himself as “a bougie ass ni**a,” in the repeating chorus.
Coincidentally, I would describe myself as “bougie” too — just the other day I ordered zucchini fries instead regular ones.
