Lil Wayne ft. Nicki Minaj – Mercy (Remix)

Posted on: September 3rd, 2012

Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne join forces to remix G.O.O.D. Music’s “Mercy.” Nice try. Actually, terrible try. Wayne doesn’t even bother to make his lines rhyme. The rest is typical YMCMB raunch-tastic drivel. This is also the song in which Nicki “endorses” Mitt Romney. Apparently it was a joke, although not a very good one. Nicki later apologized to Obama, who couldn’t figure out what the hell was going on. (I can’t either).

The “Mercy” remix makes me wonder if there is a G.O.O.D. Music / YMCMB rivalry on the horizon. If so, 2 Chainz is really hedging his bets, doing tracks with both conglomerates. (I don’t blame him, it’s not his talent that’s going to sustain him). The whole idea of naming rap firms seems pointless, they never last, and are more confusing than they’re worth. It is also something middle school girls do – naming their group of friends. And we all know that whatever teenage girls are doing is definitely a good idea…
