Rick Ross released a new track off his second album of 2014, Hood Billionaire. The single features a hook from Jay Z and production by Timbaland. “Movin Bass” talks about the constant hustle of moving weight, a phrase Ross knows in a new way since he’s started CrossFit, (which he calls “RossFit”) back in May. The rapper has lost over 100 lbs, “The most I used to do for exercise was stand up and count money,” he said, before starting RossFit.
Is his money in bars of gold? Maybe he should try a debit card.
“Seen It All” is the second single off of Jeezy’s upcoming album by the same name. The track, produced by Cardo, was originally slated for Magna Carter Holy Grail, but for whatever reason, didn’t make the cut. (Dropped the ball there, J.)
Are these two a cuter couple than Jay and Kanye? At the moment, yes — somehow a hardcore gangster rapping about dealing drugs on the streets is more endearing than that festival ruining lunatic.
DJ Khaled has assembled an all star line-up for another rap-banger. “They Don’t Love You No More” gathers together hip-hop heavyweights French Montana, Jay Z, Meek Mill and Rick Ross who discuss how it makes them feel when someone unfollows them on Instagram. #pussyniggasDONTwannaseemeinabox
Never one to miss an opportunity to steal the spotlight, Kanye West remixed Beyoncé’s single “Drunk In Love” with his signature style. The song begins with an homage to Nelson Mandela (of course), then segues to Kanye’s x-rated lyrics about Kim over a reworked instrumental: “Woo! Cause you a milf and I’m a motherfucker … You reverse, you reverse, and I pregnated your mouth, girl, ooooh.” subtle.
Since the original song features lyrical give and take between Beyonce and Jay Z, I keep waiting for Kim to come in with her verse… oh, she doesn’t sing?
…what does she do?
cigars on ice noun \si-ˈgärz\ \ˈȯn\ \ˈīs\ A phrase used to describe a man taking a cold shower to relieve his boner. Cigars on ice, cigars on ice.
…Beyoncé Knowles, the William Shakespeare of our time.
2013 isn’t over yet. Rick Ross teamed up with Jay Z to unleash “The Devil is a Lie,” the second single from Ross’s upcoming Mastermind album.
I’m so glad Rick Ross cleared up the whole “devil issue” – I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my spiritual guidance.
This song was initially released in July along with the rest of Magna Carta Holy Grail, but due to fact that it has gotten a lot of radio airplay lately, and it’s amazing — it bears repeating.
“FuckWithMeYouKnowIGotIt” is Jay Z and Rick Ross’s take on the classic 1947 musical Brigadoon, where two Americans find themselves lost while on a hunting trip in Scotland.
wait. that’s not right…
Both Yeezus and Magna Carta… Holy Grail feature songs about MDMA — so much molly it’s like a John Hughes movie.
And like any dynamic duo, bad-guy-Kanye loves rolling, and good-guy-Jay insists fashion is his drug. (Oh, vomit, just saying it like that sounds like an after school special).
So…who are you partying with?
So Magna Carta… Holy Grail was released, much to my disappointment. It’s not terrible – it’s just not the Holy Grail of rap albums. Many of the songs remind me of The Blueprint 2: The Gift and the Curse, which if you know that album, is like telling Bobbie Flay his burgers remind you of White Castle. yikes… And if it wasn’t bad enough, the Nirvana sample in “Holy Grail” is just repulsive.
My debut album will be titled This Is Not Very Good, so no one will be disappointed. (First single, “Tiny Clay Mountains”).
The-Dream recently released the fifth* single from his upcoming album, IV Play,** due out May 28th.
As I’m sure no one assumed, “High Art,” is not about Renoir or Duchamp, but making love and getting high. Mr. Nash feels so strongly about these activities that he repeats the line “I make love to my girl, then I get high with my niggas,” twenty-four times throughout the song. I heard that this song is an explanation for why he takes so many naps…
*fifth single?! wow. After 15 months of anticipation I should probably be more excited about this album than I actually am…
**What a great album title. IV Play is The-Dream’s super-sexy fourth album. That’s how you title an album, Chris Brown: clever, descriptive, and preferably with a pun.
