“Burnin’ Up” is Jessie J’s second single off her Sweet Talker album, out today (October 14th). The dance-floor ready track features production from Wallpaper and Axident, and 2 Chainz rapping: “Me and my homie on the dance floor / White girl in the middle, looking like an Oreo.” Which now, thanks to Oreo’s latest marketing scheme, is a simile that can be applied to any skin tone:
and, of course, Oompa, Loompa:
Because that’s what we’ve come to expect from 2 Chainz: insightful, progressive lyrics.
“Bang Bang” from Jessie J, Ariana Grande & Nicki Minaj was released this week and immediately rose to No. 1 on iTunes. Despite being the trifecta of each artist’s talents, the song is credited to Jessie J and is the debut single off her upcoming album. However, it will also be featured on the deluxe edition of Ariana’s album My Everything, and possibly Nicki’s Pinkprint. The sassy single is an anthem for bad girls with a chorus that goes, “Bang bang into the room / I know you want that bang bang all over you.”
Personally, I hate it when I get bang bang all over me, but to each her own…
DJ Cassidy released his first single “Calling All Hearts” which features Robin Thicke and Jessie J which is off his upcoming album, Paradise Royale.
Speaking with Rolling Stone, DJ Cassidy said, “Four years ago, I set out on a mission to bring the greatest and most universal dance music of all time back to the airwaves, back to nightlife, back to the dance floor.”
Good thing that’s a totally reasonable and unambitious goal.
