Last week, Katy released the second official single from Prism, “Unconditionally,” which is about washing your hair using only shampoo, no conditioner. Or, it’s a power pop ballad about unconditional love – there’s no way to tell for sure.
At no point during the writing and recording of this song, did anyone say, “No, Katy, don’t bother thinking of a synonym for ‘unconditionally,’ it doesn’t sound clunky at all.”?
Oh, that’s exactly what was said? Okay.
Katy Perry recently released “Dark Horse,” from her upcoming album Prism. The new song features rapper Juicy J who appears (a little) out of left field — presumably because it’s been over two years since Kanye’s remix of “E.T.” and Katy is worried about losing her “street cred.” But I’m pretty sure people named “Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson” don’t have street cred to begin with.
In a recent interview, Katy revealed that Drake’s music is the soundtrack to her and John Mayer’s hookups. Which, I totally get — nothing puts me in the mood like the beginning of “Show Me a Good Time,” but just the first 15 seconds though, once the piano kicks in, it get so annoying.
Katy Perry has finally released new music from a new album, Prism, due out October 22nd. Seriously, gurl, you’ve been coasting off Teenage Dream for three years! That’s insane.
Moving on… “Roar” is an empowering pop song, that would be even better if the line “I got the eye of the tiger” was changed to anything else.
Nobody likes that line, right?
