“Thirsty,” Mariah’s first single from her latest album, Me. I Am Mariah…The Elusive Chanteuse, is neither elusive, nor chanteuse-y really. However, it is in line with other Mariah singles like, “Touch My Body,” “Obsessed,” and “#Beautiful“, solidifying her reputation as “the Mother Teresa of pop music.”
…oh, whoops, that was supposed to be “the Teresa Giudice of pop music.”
This week Mariah released her latest single with Miguel, “Beautiful,” which is pretty catchy, but also pretty short (so you can fit it into your busy day). It has all the touches of a standard Mariah Carey song: occasional creepy giggling, vocals so high-pitched only a dog can hear some of them, and wanton use of the word “fuck” – making the song more vulgar than necessary.
I hate that the title of this song is hashtagged… If someone goes to the Grand Canyon and tweets that it’s #beautiful, no, Mariah, that does not mean your song is trending. You can’t own the word “beautiful,”
…maybe Jennifer Aniston can.
