“I Want You to Know” is the first single off Zedd’s sophomore album, True Colors, and was co-written by Ryan Tedder with vocals by Selena Gomez.
The track stays true to Zedd’s EDM roots, featuring his signature glitchy-elements and pulsating drops while Selena sings, “I want you to know that it’s our time, You and me bleed the same light.”
My cousin had that same light-bleeding condition, and, with medication, it’s a completely manageable disease.
…except for that unfortunate incident when the power went out while he was shopping for steak knives.
In her latest single, “The Heart Wants What It Wants,” Selena Gomez draws inspiration from her highly publicized relationship troubles. The new track is off her upcoming For You compilation album. The singer has had a rocky year, which started with a stint in rehab, but she’s feeling more powerful lately, telling Seventeen magazine, “I questioned the way I looked, acted, sang, and wrote. Then I turned 20,” (and presumably turned over a new leaf).
Similarly, I questioned the way I looked, acted, sang, and wrote. Then I turned 20… and then 21, 22, and 23, and 24, and everyday forever.
oooh I like this song so much! Damn The Cataracts for making such catchy dance music.
Selena released the second single from her upcoming album, Stars Dance (really?), due out July 23rd.
In the song, Selena insists they can keep dancing all night long because she’s “good with mouth to mouth recitation” (logical). Mouth-to-mouth recitation is mostly commonly used in near-drowning situations and opiate overdoses. So… Selena’s going to be partying with Miley, I see.
This song has crept into my brian and set up camp for the past two days, so I guess I should write about it. Originally, I wanted to mention that I enjoy this song’s “unique” mid-tempo beat… But then I realized that just because a pop song doesn’t sound exactly like every other song on the radio, it does not deserve a standing ovation.
Selena’s voice still weirds me out. Such a deep, matronly voice should not come from such a tiny, young person. It’s so unexpected, as if Julia Roberts opened her mouth and Gilbert Godfried’s voice came out… yikes.
