Sia’s latest single “Elastic Heart” was produced by Diplo and Greg Kurstin. The original version, which features The Weeknd, is from the The Hunger Games: Catching Fire Soundtrack, but Sia re-recorded a solo version for her album, 1000 Forms of Fear, and released it as a single in 2015.
I love the message of resilience in this song: “I’ve got thick skin and an elastic heart,” but honestly, if I wrote this song it would go, “I’ve got this thin skin and elastic paaaaaaants!”
Sia released “Chandelier,” on Monday, her first original song in four years.
In “Chandelier,” Sia attempts to keep her demons at bay by partying hard through the night, so while it sounds like a typical party jam, it’s message is decidedly darker. It’s not quite as depressing as the funeral I went to where the DJ played mash-ups from the Philadelphia soundtrack, but still sad.
David Guetta reunites with Sia for “She Wolf.” Unfortunately this song is no “Titanium,” so it probably won’t erase the repulsive “She Wolf” song Shakira left in our collective subconscious…
