“Touchin, Lovin,” is Trey Songz’s fifth single off his Trigga album. The song is Nicki Minaj’s first collaboration with Trey Songz since “Bottoms Up” in 2010.
Trey’s new single features a melody similar to one Deadmau5 employed on his remix of Calvin Harris’s “I’m Not Alone,” and the DJ took to Twitter to vent his frustrations about it. Which makes me wonder, what happened on August 18th that he found a song that sounds slightly similar to one he made five years ago? Does Deadmau5 have a Google alert for this shit?
Jim Jones’ latest single “With The Shit,” features Trey Songz on the hook. Over a DJ Spinking produced beat, Jones raps “Driver roll up your partition please, I got a bad bitch on her knees, Sayin’ I’m a dog, I ain’t got no fleas, Now pedal to the floor in the drop top V,”
…so you have a chauffeur plus you and your girl in a two-seater convertible? Sounds cozy.
50’s latest single “Smoke,” features vocals by Trey Songz over a beat produced by Dr. Dre and Dawaun Parker.
The significance of the title, “Smoke” is found in the hook: “Somebody pull the fire alarm/ girl where ya from?/ ‘Cause you got this club on fire/ and outside I bet all they smell is smoke.”
Which sounds a lot better than their original title, “Buffalo Wings.”
Trey Songz released a second single from an upcoming sixth album, although there has been no official confirmation yet. “Ordinary,” finds Trey and Jeezy at the club, asking ladies, “Don’t you hate an ordinary ni**a? Drinking out ordinary liquor? Ni**as spending ordinary money?” Enh, not really.
The song is basic (like the bitches he does not fuck with), but I would really prefer is a sassy single called “Extraordinary” that has a tap number in the middle. A girl can dream…
Trey Songz kicks off 2014 with new music, because there is nothing more terrifying than another blank year on your Wikipedia page.
Check out the hook lyrics to the DJ Mustard-produced single:
“Oh na na na, put your hands in the air if you’re loving tonight
Oh na na na, keep your hands in the hair if you’re spending the night
Oh na na na, oh na na na na na na na (everybody say it like)
Oh na na na, oh na na na na na na na (everybody say)”
Normally I would say “Na Na” takes a page straight from Akon’s song-writing book, but with so many “na”s… it looks like the student has become the master.
Oh yeah! Trey Songz! I forgot about him for…all of 2013. whoops. Where has he been? Where did he go? Do you think he’s Banksy?
It’s the only logical explanation.
Trey Songz latest song is titled, “Hail Mary,” and is about going deep, of course. It’s not entirely clear that Trey understands that a “Hail Mary,” is anything other than a football play. You know, Trey, that prayer-thing… no?…
The “2 Reasons” are: “I only came for the bitches and the drinks.” That makes two of us…
