Usher recently premiered his second single “She Came to Give It to You,” off his upcoming eighth studio album, due out in September. The song is produced by disco-revival master, Pharrell and features a verse by Nicki Minaj, who, at the very end of the song, compares men trying to cuff her to a Swiffer Duster.
I’m surprised she knew what that was — you know that bitch does not dust.
Chris Brown teams up with Rick Ross and Usher for “New Flame.” This single marks the first collaboration between Usher and Chris Brown, who is returning the favor by appearing on Usher’s upcoming album. “New Flame” is off of Brown’s long-awaited album, X, which has been “due out soon” for two-and-a-half years.
…is it being produced by the DMV? That would explain his impatient fits of rage.
Usher relaunches his solo career with the release of the first track from his upcoming eighth studio album. On “Good Kisser,” Usher sings about receiving amazing blow jobs from his girl.
“Good Kisser” is much sexier than the original song concept, “Good Napper,” about how he rolls over and goes to sleep immediately after.
(Also, is “blow job” one word or two? The MLA doesn’t seem to have a definitive ruling on this…)
On February 14th, Usher tweeted, “You loved what I gave you last Valentine’s #Climax So here is “Special delivery from the cloud” Happy Valentine’s Day!” and it linked to this latest song. Cute double entendre, but if anyone climaxed while listening to Usher whine about his divorce, that’s just weird.
On the flipside, I could get used to a annual Usher-Diplo collabo.
People are always asking me, “Tina, when is someone going to sample Billy Joel’s ‘Uptown Girl’ in a hip-hop song?” Great news, highly-specific made-up person, Usher just did! Perfect timing too, because “Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop” was also my anthem during Thanksgiving dinner…
It appears that Usher subscribes to the notion that “if it ain’t broke…” his new album Looking 4 Myself, is good, but many of the songs sound familiar.
“Hot Thing” sounds like “Hot Toddy 2.0” However, “Hot Toddy” is one of my favorite songs ever. So this song recycling is like hearing the tequila shot has been re-worked. Where can I try this? Is the lime dipped in salt?…
Usher’s latest single features a slick beat by Diplo.
How disappointing – an entire song devoted to climaxing, and yet no one gets off.
